iVenture Accelerator, Week 3
A 9-week pilot program for aspiring student entrepreneurs. One small step for a bigger and brighter future.
It’s the third week of the iVenture Accelerator. Earlier this week, we had Laura Bleill, the Associate Director of the University of Illinois Research Park. She talked about how she “accidentally” started ChambanaMoms, an online-magazine for Champaign-Urbana families. We also had Alan Singleton from Single Law Firm, P.C. to talk about the legal issues in starting companies.
In addition, this week was also our first out of three trips to Chicago. For this first trip, we attended TechWeek Chicago 2015. We attended as part of the Start Up Expo and presented in the exhibit the whole day. We met a lot of interesting people there, some of which you wouldn’t expect to be in a conference like it.

Aside from the conference and the expo, we also had the privilege of mentoring high school students form their own startup ideas. It was an amazing experience since I’ve never thought of high school kids being eager so early on in forming their businesses. Kudos to them!
